Eivind Husebø is a Norwegian pop, rock and EDM artist based in Bergen. His haunting, addictive new record ‘Wild N Blue’ (2020) was a collaboration between DJ Symphony (Wu Tang Clan) and music producer Thir13eenbeatz. Husebø’s upcoming new single features drums by Josh Podolak (from indie-pop trio Navigate The Sky), trumpet by Kelly O’Donohue (brass section musician for Pink), and mixing and mastering by Gabe Gallucci (known for his work with artists like Shawn Mendes). Originally from Bergen, Husebø’s love for music began when his father gave him a guitar. Husebø loved the instrument so much that he saved up to buy his own brand-new guitar at only 10 years old. The Norwegian musician says: “I couldn’t get enough of playing guitar. I joined a heavy metal band, I played in my local church, I’d play wherever I could, learning all the time. I felt I had to be good at something, and that something was playing guitar, whether it was classical or electric.” Husebø first realised that he could sing in 2014. This vocal ability, along with playing guitar, gave Husebø confidence to start composing songs. At the start, his songs were mostly based on hard knocks he’d experienced, but found that this negativity didn’t resonate with his character. Husebø says: “I liked using metaphors in my songwriting, but I ended up composing a long, sad concert. I thought, ‘this isn’t me’. Singing makes me feel alive and happy. I want to sing happy songs, positive summer songs. Now I’ve found my true voice. Most of my songs are now about finding peace and happiness. “ Eivind Husebø is now in the studio working on exciting new music and preparing to stream live concerts online.
